Graphite material is an earlier developed and utilized bipolar plate material. The traditional bipolar plate mainly adopts non porous graphite plate and machined grooves. The graphite bipolar plate has low coefficient of thermal expansion, good thermal conductivity, stable chemical properties, good corrosion resistance and strong conductivity. However, the brittleness of graphite not only makes processing difficult, but also limits the reduction of the thickness of graphite plate, and it is easy to produce pores in the manufacturing process, which makes the fuel and oxidant penetrate each other. Therefore, other substances must be added to improve the performance of the battery.
